Do you experience mood swings just before your periods? Do you feel stressed and irritable? If yes, then you might be suffering from what is known as premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Most of you might end up grabbing some medicines, but you can also go natural. All you need to do is eat a small piece of jaggery daily to deal with PMS.
How does it work?
According to Nutritionist Neha Chandna, ‘The hormonal levels in your body start to fluctuate few days prior to your periods, causing mood swings. However, eating a small piece of jaggery causes the release of endorphins (known as happy hormones). These hormones not only de-stress you, but also help in relieving the symptoms of PMS.’
How to use it?
Eat a small piece of jaggery in the morning (even before you have your tea or coffee) every day. However, if you are planning to lose weight or suffer from diabetics, consult your doctor. This is because, jaggery is high in calories (4 kcal/gram) and may lead to changes in your blood sugar levels.
